About:
Dr. Madiah Binti Omar is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and a distinguished academician in Industry Revolution 5.0 (IR5.0) with over 10 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), modeling, predictive maintenance, digital twin technology, hardware integration, and system engineering for rotating equipment and chemical processes. She holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UTP, where she developed a novel hybrid AI technique for fault prediction in dry low-emission gas turbines. Her academic background also includes a Master’s degree in Analytical Instrumentation from Coburg University in Germany and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from UTP.
Dr. Madiah leads the RoboTech Innovation Centre (ROBOTIC) at the university, supporting the national agenda for achieving IR5.0. She actively conducts short courses, develops training modules in AI for engineers, and is frequently invited as a speaker in the maintenance field. Her work involves collaboration with multiple industries, and she has been awarded six gold medals at ITEX and MTE, along with two patents and two copyrights for her innovations in digital twin technology and predictive maintenance. Additionally, she serves as the principal investigator for 12 AI-driven research grants and consultancy projects. Her current research interests in IR5.0 focus on creating a digital ecosystem where AI-driven innovations and human efforts work collaboratively.
