About:
Royce Tan is a Malaysian industrial transformation leader with over 30 years experience in the Bosch Group, where he has held senior roles spanning automotive, solar energy, and Industry 4.0 across ASEAN. He began his career after completing a Bachelors and postgraduate research in Electrical Engineering at RMIT Melbourne, followed by an MBA at Heriot-Watt University under a Bosch scholarship.
From 1994 to 2019, Royce advanced through Bosch as General Manager and Director, spearheading automotive OEM business, solar photovoltaic, and smart manufacturing programs. Since 2020, he has continued as a consultant on Industry 4.0 and digitalisation for Bosch Rexroth, AmBank, and the World Bank IFC, advising manufacturers across Malaysia and Vietnam on productivity, ESG compliance, and digital transformation.
Royce is also a panel member in 2 government agencies in Malaysia related to smart automation and future skills. On talent development, he is an industry master trainer for more than 2,500 professionals over the last 5 years. Under the government and bank’s programs, he has directly engaged with more than 200 SME manufacturers nationwide, identifying pain points and enabling practical, scalable solutions. His work has established multiple technical training centres across Malaysia, strengthening the ecosystem for smart manufacturing and talent development. Royce remains a prominent voice in driving sustainable, technology-enabled growth for Malaysian and regional industries.
